Pyr’s Bio
Thunder’s story starts out when he was a livestock guard dog in Tennessee, who, alone, was charged with protecting his herd of goats. One day, a pack of coyotes decided they were hungry enough to go after the goats. Thunder, being the Pyr that he is, took exception to that. Unfortunately, being malnourished and solo he lost.
The pictures were gruesome, but the story was hopeful. The coyotes had ripped his shoulder apart.
He ended up in a shelter in rural Tennessee and they called Big Fluffy Dog Rescue to come get him.  We saw his story and knew we had to help him.  We drove to Tennessee to get him several weeks later and he became part of our family.  He lived with us for 6.5 years before passing to cancer this summer.  He was the absolute best dog we have ever shared our lives with.
