About

Carolina Boxer Rescue is a registered 501c non-profit organization. We are completely volunteer run and all donations and funds raised go directly to our foster dogs' medical needs.

Our mission is to balance the health, safety, and welfare needs of Boxers in the Carolinas (and parts of Virginia) by providing a loving and safe environment for stray, abused, impounded and owner surrendered dogs by placing them in foster homes and ultimately - forever homes.

Carolina Boxer Rescue was founded in October 2001 by three North Carolina women who wanted to make a difference in the lives of shelter dogs. The work was hard, and the technology of today was not present. They had a fax machine to accept adoption applications, and photos were often taken with a Polaroid camera. Volunteers drove all over Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, pulling dogs from shelters and driving them to foster or adoptive homes.

As CBR grew, many dedicated volunteers joined the cause. The organization became larger, with more adoptions and fosters. Now, hundreds of Boxers are saved every year, and CBR is proud to have saved over 2,000 Boxers since its inception.

Many dogs taken in by the rescue are heartworm positive, need surgery, or other medical attention. To continue to do what we do, funds are needed to support our efforts. With our dedicated supporters, we have been able to continue to provide for the medical needs of our fosters. With your help, we can continue to Save the Nubs!
