Andy Pandy
Your Pet's Quirks
Andy needs constant love and pets or he'll follow me relentlessly vocalizing his demands at the top of his lungs. It's so cute but makes simple things like taking a shower or doing dishes extremely difficult. :)
Your Pet's Story or Bio
Andy has Hydrocephalus (water on the brain). I rescued he and his blind sister, Bella, at 5 months old back in September of 2013. Both were deemed retarded and scheduled to be euthanized. I didn't care what labels were given and wasn't giving up on either. There was an instant bond with that my then infant son, Alex, developed as well. To this day they're close buddies.
Andy took a turn for the worse 2 months after being adopted but miraculously came through his first life saving brain surgery. A shunt was placed in his brain to drain the excess cerebral fluid down into his abdomen where it was reabsorbed. Within days of the pressure on his brain decreasing Andy bounced back to the kitten he was and got to live the life he deserved.
In August Andy again required a life saving brain surgery to replace his dislodged shunt. It's been a bumpy road requiring medications to control periodic seizures but he's back to being the kitten he'll always be...happy, playful and affectionate!
