Welcome to the Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust’s Fifth Annual Photograph Contest Fundraiser!
The Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust is an accredited 501c3 nonprofit conservation organization with the sole mission of preserving natural resources in the Candlewood Valley Region. Our goal is to permanently protect properties with significant conservation value, connect people with the land, and educate the public about critical conservation issues we are facing each day. Your participation in our Photo Contest directly serves to help improve and maintain conserved properties; our work is entirely volunteer and donor driven.
We are continuing our commitment to preserving our open spaces by welcoming all levels of photographers to submit works featuring the lands we all love in the following categories:
Four online voting categories with one prize each:
- Animal Kingdom. Found an interesting critter somewhere in the great outdoors? Action shots of birds, bugs, and all manner of beasts are sometimes hard to get, but delightful to behold.
- Nature in Bloom. Whether its the beauty of a tree's leaves unfurling and blossoms bursting forth or the flowers of Joe Pye Weed covered with butterflies, photographs of nature's blossoms are loved by many. Flowers, ferns, gardens, and all sorts of foliage are the favorites of photographers and viewers for a reason, they are beautiful to behold.
- Look Up! The sky may not be falling, but it may be beautiful! Photograph the clouds, the skies, flying creatures, and all things that we stop to look up at.
- Took a Hike! A photographer lovers favorite! Loved the view or took the path less traveled? Traversed an amazing landscape? Took the road less traveled? We would love to see photographs you took wherever your travels led you.
Hudson Valley photographer Maureen Lohan-Bremer will select one additional photograph for the grand prize of Best in Show.
There is a $20 fee for entering your photograph into the contest, and no limit to the number of photos you can enter. All photographs must be uploaded where indicated.
One winner for each of the four categories will be selected through online voting, and each vote is only $1, with a $5 minimum. Anyone (including you) can vote as many times as they like for their favorite photograph(s) in each of the four categories. The best way to improve your chance of winning is by encouraging everyone you know to vote for YOUR photograph, so be sure to invite your friends and family to vote!
