Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. Timeless Cat Tails- Pic Contest Rules

The cost is $25 (non-refundable) to submit one picture to enter the contest AND to receive a 2024 BCR Calendar.

If your pet does not win the coveted spot in the calendar, you'll still get a terrific calendar and help the rescue! BCR calendars will be mailed in the late fall/early winter and make great holiday gifts.    

1. Quick Registration: Just click the "enter contest" button on our home page or select "enter the contest" from the participate menu above to access the Timeless Tails contest registration form. Complete the brief form and click "Create an account," or login if you already have an account.

2. Enter Contest: After you set up your account, you'll be taken to the Enter Contest page.
Click the choose file button to select a high-quality photo of your pet, list your pet's name, your city and state, and a brief descriptive bio of your pet (100 words maximum).   The picture must be of a real cat, it may not be AI-generated.  The picture must be a proper picture of your cat,  we reserve the right to ask you to replace the picture with a different one if it is not proper. 

Note, that dogs, cats, and other pets are eligible.
As an option, you can select a personal fundraising goal for your pet – this is not required to enter the contest, however. When you're finished, click the submit button.
Your pet's photo will upload to the contest site and you'll be shown the information you entered, including your pet's photo. If you want to change anything about your entry, click modify the entry and change the relevant information. Otherwise, click to Continue to the donation page to complete the entry process.

3. Enter your Pet: As noted above, your $25 non-refundable entry fee entitles you to submit one picture to enter the - Timeless Cat Tails - Pic contest and receive a 2024 calendar. Just enter your credit card number, expiration date, and card CVC security number and click Submit to enter your pet in the contest. Note that you can choose to enter more than $25 if you wish, to give your pet a quick head-start toward the top prizes. Simply select the additional amount from the drop-down menu.  

1. Only one photo submission per entry fee, so give us your best picture. No refunds for photos that can not be used.

2. Photos must be taken at the highest resolution possible. At a minimum, your digital photo should be at least 2400 x 1800 pixels and a color image in a horizontal layout. Photos cannot contain filters of any kind, such as Snapchat or Instagram filters, or be edited using any type of digital software. As long as your photos are high-resolution they can be submitted in digital format—JPEG, or PNG. Poor-quality photos will be used as thumbnails in the calendar where possible, or not be used at all. Yes, you can submit a photo with multiple pets in it but they will not reproduce as well. We suggest no more than two pets per photo, with the pets placed close together. No humans in photos please, only your pets.   The picture must be of a real cat, it may not be AI-generated.  The picture must be a proper picture of your cat,  we reserve the right to ask you to replace the picture with a different one if it is not proper. 

3. A few tips: You can use a digital camera or your smartphone to take the contest photo. Whichever you use, please make sure you're shooting at the highest quality setting. Make sure your pet is in focus, and that your photo is not over-or under-exposed (too light or too dark), and take more than one photo so you can select the best one. Your submitted photo's file size should be measured in MB rather than KB. IMPORTANT: Please check your email settings to make sure the photo is not reduced in size when you send it to us or use Dropbox to send it.

4. You may submit photos to be posted online starting at 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Voting in 2024 - Timeless Cat Tails - calendar fundraising contest starts at 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, and runs through 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, August 18, 2023.

Get your friends and relatives to vote for your pet to win! Every dollar equals one point; the pet with the highest number of points will be Star of the Calendar for 2024 and all the money raised helps the cats at Blind Cat Rescue.

All submissions are subject to the contest rules set forth below. Whether your pet wins or not you'll still receive a terrific calendar and you'll also be helping rescue!


There are two ways to vote:

Online Voting: Entries received will be judged by public vote on the website located at
www.gogophotocontest.com/blindcatrescue2023   
Entering and Voting will begin at 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, and end at 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, August 18, 2023.

Visitors to www.gogophotocontest.com/blindcatrescue2023  will have the opportunity to select their favorite entries by following the online instructions. Online voting allows voters to vote for as many photos as they like by donating to the rescue in the name of the candidates. Each $1 donated will count as ONE vote; voting may be done with a minimum of $5. (In other words, you may put all 5 votes on one pet or you may make 5 separate votes for 5 different pets.)

Voting by Mail:  You may not vote by mail

Note that voting does NOT entitle the participant to a calendar. Only the people who enter a pet in the contest receive one calendar with their entry. Calendars may be ordered independently of the contest at https://blindcatrescue.com/calendar.htm when they become available.   There will be no pre-orders.

At the conclusion of the voting period, the entry with the most eligible points (dollars) will be deemed the "Grand Prize Winner," pending verification of eligibility and compliance with the official rules. The next entries with the next most eligible votes will be deemed the "First Runner Up," Second Place, and Third Place pending verification of eligibility and compliance with these official rules.

Grand prize: The winning pet will be on the inside cover page of BCR's 2024 collectible calendar and will receive a prize package that includes  5 extra calendars, a collectible 2023 Christmas ornament, and a BCR T-shirt.    All postage/handling is paid by Blind Cat Rescue.

First Runner Up, Second Place & Third Place will have their pictures included in the calendar but not featured on a page by themselves. They will also receive a 2023 ornament and 2 extra calendars.

All contest entries will receive a calendar and will be included in a collage picture in the calendar.

Eligibility: Participation is open to all countries, US and abroad. Void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. Officers, employees, and board members or directors of Blind Cat Rescue and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such officers/employees/directors are not eligible to enter the contest.

Notification: If winners cannot be contacted, or in the event of non-compliance with these Fundraiser rules and requirements, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. Limit one (1) prize per person or household.

Legal Stuff:

1. General: As a condition to receiving any prize, winners will be required to execute an assignment transferring and assigning all of their respective rights, title and interest, including but not limited to any copyrights or trademarks, in the Photo to Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, known as Sponsor, without further compensation or permission. By entering, entrants agree to transfer and assign all of their respective rights, title and interest, including but not limited to any copyrights or trademarks, in their Entries to Sponsor, without further compensation or permission. By entering, entrants agree to the use of their names, likenesses, biographical information, and Entries (including but not limited to the Photo) for purposes of advertising, trade, or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Additionally, by participating in this Fundraiser, or by accepting a prize, all participants agree to release the Sponsor from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost, or expense whatsoever that may occur in connection with, preparation for, or participation in Fundraiser, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Fundraiser-related activity and claims based on publicity rights, copyright/trademark infringement, intellectual property rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. Neither the Sponsor nor their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, divisions or related companies are responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that winners might incur as a result of this Fundraiser or receipt of the prize. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
   
   
2. Additional Terms. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Fundraiser should (in its sole discretion) viruses, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Fundraiser. In such case, Sponsor will select the winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Fundraiser or website.
   
   CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE FUNDRAISER MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
   
   
3. Use of Data. By participating in the Fundraiser, entrants hereby agree to the Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted the Sponsor's privacy policy.
