Pet's Story or Bio
Bessie is a scruffy Am Staff mix, mixed with Mini Schnauzer and a few others, even a little Wolfhound! Since she’s so loving her full name is Bessie Mae Mucho :-) But even though she’s the sweetest she sure has a bark that’ll surprise you! And don’t let the photo fool you, she’s no tiny terrier, she’s 60 pounds!
She was picked up as a pup on the streets of Brownsville, Texas. After a few weeks at the shelter a rescue stepped in, but only after a kill order had been issued ;-( We found her online, and it was love at first site (dog dad joke). But we didn’t actually meet her until she was brought up to Pittsburgh along with thirty other dogs!
In 2018 she was diagnosed with pemphigus foliaceous, an autoimmune disease that attacks her skin. But that doesn’t stop her, she’s out here living her best life in the Burgh!
