Your Pet's Story or Bio
Wagner, a Great Dane/black lab mix, was rescued by my mom when he was 8 months old. He spent the next 5 years traveling the country with my stepdad in his 18-wheeler. When he got too old to get in and out of the truck at 7, he came to live with me. I had just left my ex, and Wagner helped me get through a lot of tough times. He was my best friend, my confidante, and my social being board. He also made me laugh every day. He was the biggest goober ever.
I knew his time had come last winter, when, for the first time ever, he didn't want to play fetch with his rope after dinner. He was 2 month from being 14, an amazingly long time to live for such a big guy. That was the hardest decision I've ever had to make.
He loved life. He never met a living being he didn't want to become instant bffs with. He never understood why cats didn't reciprocate his over-exuberant style of greeting. I miss him every day.
