Their love was like a storybook story…
I adopted Petunia from BellyRubs Basset Rescue after she was surrendered 3 weeks before her 11th birthday. She had spent most of her life outdoors with limited attention. This sweet girl instantly nuzzled her way onto my sofa and into my heart. She also had the unending love of my senior boy, Webster. It was a love story for the ages! Their beautiful life together was cut short in May, when we lost Petunia to cancer. She fought with dignity until she was ready to journey on to the Rainbow Bridge. Webster was right by her side as we said goodbye. Petunia was an amazing gift and Webster’s devotion was so inspiring. Webster and Petunia are shining examples of the rewards of rescue, especially senior rescue.
