Animal Bio
This is Gus. He is a very friendly and loving five year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Gus has shown an amazing ability to balance treats on his nose as well as find tennis balls in the most unexpected of places. Gus was supposed to be a prize winning show dog; however, an intense love of hot dogs that were hidden in his handler's pocket resulted in an unfortunate trip and fall for the handler during a regional competition. Fortunately, no one was hurt and, true to form, Gus went right for the hot dogs while his handler was laying on the ground trying to process what just occurred. Although this incident ultimately helped to derail Gus' show dog career, he has no regrets about his actions that day and would do it all over again if given the chance. Gus loves his walks, swimming at the beach, playing fetch with kids and taking up most of the couch, bed, recliner or whatever piece of furniture happens to be nearby and easily accessible. Gus is excited to help raise money for the BC SPCA!
