Archie came to us 7 1/2 yrs ago after a rough start on the streets of Texas, kill shelters, rescued and subsequently relinquished. He presented more behavior challenges than any dog I have ever known. Through destroyed furniture, gardens & possessions we persevered. Through hi anxiety and fear-aggression we persevered. He learned to be gentle to children and other dogs. His hilarious & quirky personality and antics won the hearts of all that met him. He had a bizarre preference to sit on table tops or the roof of his kennel. He was incredibly smart and resourceful. He absolutely adored women, and was known to launch unannounced onto the laps of many an unsuspecting guest. He loved his family with all his heart and was happiest just being near us. Tragically a routine blood panel last month led to a discovery of a perforated abdomen from ulcers. He was critically ill and after several traumatic hours we made the gut punching decision to let him go. Our grief rocked our family to the core and the outpouring of support was truly heartwarming. There will always be a hole in our hearts but our pictures and memories of Archie will bring a smile to our faces forever.
