Animal Bio
Lulu, a Pomeranian and hairless Chinese Crested mix, was rescued at seven months old, liberated from living long hours alone in a crate. Incredibly, from the day she came home, while reserved at first, her sweet nature remained intact and blossomed. Three months later, our Boo joined the family, a 1 year old, also rescued from a life primarily lived in a crate. Lulu was very sweet with Boo, who initially would not move from room to room without being carried. However, gentle Lulu teased and encouraged Boo to run and play (despite his initial stumbling over his front feet). Thanks to Lulu's companionship, he eventually became a deft runner and a happy-go-lucky fella, eventually nicknamed Pony Man (when he got excited, he adorably jumped vertically with front legs tucked in like a Lipizzan Station Courbette).
Among Lulu's many natural talents: was as a shepherd. She would often lay or sit beside our four pet hens as they foraged or sunned in the fenced garden, forming a close bond with them. If Lulu, Boo and I were together in the garden at dusk, she'd carefully, slowly guide the hens back to their house.
Lulu is also known for being a very musical talker, bringing endless laughter with her antics and eagerly performed tricks. When anticipating a treat, the charm is turned up to 11, sometimes striking a pose with an inward turn of her right paw or perhaps winking with her right eye.
Fifteen years of bliss!
The way dogs give love so selflessly, hopefully inspires us all to be more like them.
