Auggie is the most special lil guy in the universe, and I’ve been so blessed to have him come into my life. After seeing his BC SPCA adoption post shared on a friends Facebook page, I immediately knew I needed to meet this cat and bring him home with me. He was in care at the Nanaimo branch and I called right away to get more info on him. Unfortunately he had an adoption pending already. I don’t know why but I welled up with tears! I was so disappointed!
I called back again and said to the staff if the adoption fell through to please call me and I would come right away and take then named “Senor Scrunchie” home.
I thought there was no chance anyone could meet this little cat and not take him home, so I tried to forget about that sweet n’ grouchy little face.
After a couple of days, I got a surprise call from the branch saying that the adoption had fallen through and would I like to come for a meet and greet! YESSSS!
I immediately went out and got all the supplies I needed for him at home and booked a reservation on the first ferry possible.
I will never forget arriving at the Nanaimo branch and seeing Auggie for the first time in the meet and greet room.
When I walked in, he was hiding in a cat tree hideout but when I approached it, out popped his big fuzzy face and again I started welling up with tears of love and also starting laughing. He just instantly stole my heart.
Once I got him home on the North Shore, he has brought more and more joy to my home, and he has adapted so well. He came to the SPCA as a stray so not much was known about his past but he just fit right in from day one.
Auggie makes everyone smile and giggle with his gruff exterior and grumpy expression, but melts your heart with his sweet and loving personality. He is wonderfully patient and gentle with kids and even more patient with me fussing over him all day. He is a cat of mystery, with a past unknown. Auggie loves to take it easy on his favorite chair (or the dining room table!) and nap the day away, coming alive at dusk to pawtrol the patio for intruders.
He is just absolutely the best little friend anyone could ever dream of, (even with the odd hairball or two!) Auggie is worth every clump of floofy hair on the floor, bed, clothing, and I can’t even remember a time without him here.
Auggie is also the most photogenic little critter in the universe with his majestic mane, pink jelly bean paws, the sweetest green eyes and grumpy pout. He could fill a calendar all by himself!
