I fostered Cissy 22 years ago. She was a rescue from the mean streets of Toronto. She brought with her a kitten, that we named Couscous. I had never been responsible for a life before, let alone two lives. When they were both healthy enough to go for adoption, Couscous was adopted almost immediately. One week passed and then two, Cissy was competing against many animals wanting their forever home. By the third week, I coldn't bare to see her at the shelter any longer. I took her back, to quite possibly the only home she knew outside of the shelter. She was guesstimated to be 2 years old when she came to live with me. Everyone who knew her loved her. She just passed away last summer, at 20 years old. She became a long haul truck driver with me and my husband, going on many adventures across North America. I think she enjoyed every minute of them, getting positive attention and treats wherever she'd end up.
