After a few hours of running hard, I was finally able to get them to sit down and take this pic. Anyone that knows German Shorthaired Pointers will know that their level of energy is true the roof!!

Keera turned 5 in January and Cannon will be 5 in June. I rescued both of them when they were only 2-3 months old. I got Keera from a “Breeder” in Surrey that was neglecting all the dogs she had. I reported her to BCSPCA and they eventually seized most of the dogs. I was also able to have CKC revoke her right to register any dogs for 15 years.

As for Cannon, he was going to be put down at 2 months old because one of his ears was completely closed. Instead of killing the poor little guy, I offered to take him and be responsible for any future medical issues with his ear and everything else of course. I had to take him to a neurologist for an MRI to determine the extend of his disability and whether or not he would require the full ablation of his ear. The neurologist wanted to keep a close eye on him and reassess in a few months. He also discovered that Cannon is prone to seizure but the medication he’ll be on for all his life is helping a lot.

Prior to these two, I had 3 others of the same breed. I can’t live without a dog. I called my dogs my therapy dogs because they give me a purpose in life to keep fighting my PTSD.
