Animal BioJim was just about the best dog ever. He was born on Sept 16th 2005. He was the biggest and most unusual looking puppy in the litter (eventually weighing in at 120lbs!!)
We were the closest of companions for 13 years. He went everywhere I did. It’s not too much to say we saved each other’s lives. When some of life's big challenges came my way, Jim was always there for me-every step of the way, quietly but steadfastly giving me his love and support. When Jim got very seriously ill and almost died in 2013, I was proud to help him recover and proud to watch him struggle and recoup for 6 months, on his way back to good health.
Jim made EVERYONE he met happy. He had many good friends that loved him (mostly human). He was a magnet for people of all ages. He was literally able to stop traffic- (people would, on occasion, stop their cars , get out to meet him!!). Remarkable. Jim was smart as a whip, funny as hell, gentle as the day is long and as loyal as anyone could ever be,
He passed away on Dec 5th 2018, 1 week before our twins arrived. His last great offer of friendship and love- clearing the decks for the arrival of two babies. The fact that he was unable to meet our baby girls will always stir deep emotions in me.
I was honored to have known him and honored to have been by his side for his entire life. We walked hundreds of miles, met tons of wonderful and saw many great sites together.
He will never be forgotten.
Best friend a person could ever ask for!
