This is Magnum who was originally rescued from the SPCA as a kitten. After 8 years her parents adopted a baby girl who had severe asthma and was allergic to the cat. They were taking the cat to the shelter when we answered a request to adopt her from a family friend trying to avoid her from being given to a shelter. Her name was Gypsy but we changed her name to Magnum since we live on a Vineyard and she is a large format! She was 22lbs and has since been diagnosed with diabetes. Her blood sugar was at 26 when we arrived at the SPCA hospital and with daily injections of insulin we have managed to get her blood sugar down to 7.7 which is within the normal range. She now weighs 20 lbs and is much more active. She is the most loving and affectionate cat however she does have a voracious appetite that never stops!
