Hi there,
My name is Stella and I am a Jack Russel mix.
I didn't have a very good start in life, someone left me on the streets at 4 months old to fend for myself. I was starving and covered in fleas and mange when I was caught and taken to a shelter. They discovered that my tail was broken at the base. I also had a bad attitude and really didn't trust anyone. They cleaned me up and held onto me until I was old enough to be spayed. They gave me medicine for my skin and fleas and even gave me baths. Even though I looked so much better I was still broken inside.
The shelter interviewed people to find me the right fit for the next journey in my life. A forever home , one that had patient people who would show me that people were generally good. They picked some great parents for me
My new Mom and Dad took me to school to learn confidence and see lots of dogs. They showed my parents how people should be introduced to make me comfortable when their friends came over and my whole world has changed. Now I have found out that my parents friends are my friends too, some of them have dogs that like to come to visit with me.
I wouldn't have this chance in life without the wonderful work the shelters provided.
My parents have been proud monthly supporters for the B.C. S.P.C.A for 11 years now.
