Animal BioI adopted Sadie almost two years ago. She has the sweetest, most loving personality you could ever ask for in a fur baby. One look at her and you see just how beautiful she is .... but her beginning was very sad, and horrific ..... she is a rescue from Montreal. She spent 7 years in a small crate and was forced to have 11 litters of puppies. It took a few homes before she came to be mine. The problem at one placement was that, because Sadie was in a small crate, all she did (and still does when upset or happily excited) is go around and around in small, tight circles the person thought Sadie had mental issues. She doesn't, and its not something that ever crossed my mind. I knew she would need lots of love, patience, understanding and consistency. It was hard, I have to say, and very trying at times, but I was not going to give up on her like her other placements had. It took a whole year to potty train her. It also took a year before she would go near my husband, who is so very kind, gentle as well as patient himself. There are only 3 men she will go to, even after all these years, and all three are family members, my husband included. As for femakes, she will only go to 2, both family, myself included. When I take her for a walk she is scared and does circles around me. I have a feeling that it may be an ongoing process to work with her and keep her feeling safe at all times. I can’t even imagine what she went through to damage her so much. She eats like she is not ever getting fed again. I can only assume that it is from never having enough to eat, and all of her puppies taking so much out of her when they fed from her. I will never deprive her or give up on her. Sadie is stronger than many dogs three times her size! We call her a little bull dog! She is such an amazing girl. I could go on snd on but I think I should leave it here rather than write a novel. Sadie is such a blessing that I had to share her story .... and her picture, of course! (I have soooo many pictures it was hard to choose one).
I hope you enjoyed reading Sadies story. It’s always nice when there’s a happy ending.
