BioTwo of the Langley66 "working moms." Clover (left) and Sage (right) were among the 66 dogs seized from a puppy mill in Langley, BC, on February 4, 2016. Four of Sage's puppies were part of the original seizure. Ten days later, on Valentine's Day, Clover gave birth to a litter of nine. Clover and Sage have come a long way in the year since. Both were adopted into families that had great mentor dogs in place to help them to discover what being a dog can be. Both enjoy get-togethers with each other, with their puppies, and with other members of the local Langley66 and Portuguese Water Dog communities. Great support from all. Here they are together, March 19, 2017, in Everett Crowley Park, Vancouver, following a "puppy shower" get-together to celebrate the pending arrival of a new member of their extended family. Clover and Sage know puppies. But, now they are doting aunties. Their days as breeding bitches are done. (Photo credit: Christine Nishikawara).
