Bio
Tank was surrendered when he was 3. After that, he had it pretty rough. He was bounced around from shelter, to foster care to different foster care, with one potential new home hitting and abusing him trying to make him into a 'guard dog' because of his size. He's a 120 lb lush of a Mastiff X Rottweiler. Many people said that his dog aggression issues could not be fixed. They said no one would want him and to just put him down. Thanks to two amazing people we met and still keep in contact with today, Tank is alive and well. They believed in Tank and rallied for his life. They took him under their wing, provided him a loving home (with two other dogs and a cat, seamlessly) and posted his picture and adoption information online. Shortly after (8 months), my husband and I found his adoption post. We went to go meet Tank and when we did, it was love at first sight. He still has trust issues with men because of his past in the beginning but after the initial meet and greet, he is the cuddliest boy ever! Same with other dogs; he still doesn't appreciate off leash dogs running towards him as he gets extreme anxiety and gets scared (yes, even pugs and chihuahuas or "my dog is friendly" dogs) but he is getting better and better every single day. We have had him for three glorious years and we always say we're not too sure who rescued who - we couldn't imagine a world without our Tank! We are his 7th home and I assure you, until his last day, we are his last home. He has been beaten and bruised in his past but his loving spirit and extra cuddly, people loving ways could not be broken and we are so thankful that we have found such a sweet boy (and met two amazing people who believed in him as much as we do!) I'm hoping that with this story, it will raise money for many more success stories just like Tank's! Every dog deserves a chance, hopefully the money raised helps give them one.
