Bio
Abby was just nearly two-months-old when she, eleven of her siblings and their mother were all found abandoned at a dump in Williams Lake on October 6, 2010. To increase her chances for adoption, Abby took a ride on the BC SPCA Drives for Lives to the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre.
That's where I come in, I found her profile online and instantly drove to Richmond to submit an application for her. There were 11 applications for her adoption and I was the lucky one to be selected to adopt her. Adopting this little gem changed my life, she was timid, scared of men, stairs and practically everything. I knew that I could work with her to build her confidence and get her back on track. She inspired me to revisit a career that I had only dreamed of doing, becoming a dog trainer.
Within five months of adopting Abby, we moved to Victoria to take part in a 12 week course, so I could become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. She is a true testament on what love, patience and kindness can do to bring a dog out of their shell. She's a very happy girl now and enjoys lots of hikes, sheep herding and watching squirrels. She no longer finds the world a scary place and loves everyone she meets
