Two young deer and their mom were walking across our lawn when the young ones spotted a cowbird and spent a lot of time watching it. Mom continued toward the bird feeder, where she began to eat the seeds on the ground. Whenever the bird strolled closer to them, they’d jump back. I love the body language of the deer on the left. It wasn’t quite sure how to handle the situation. The bird was unfazed and after awhile headed for the seeds that lay scattered on the ground.
