Out for a stroll near the Hyde Creek Hatchery last October when we heard the cracking of tree branches. Down came this young bear who began picking up the spawning salmon out of the creek and moving them to shore, watching them flop around and then back for more! Seemed the flopping around of the salmon made the bear play with them more then having interest in actually eating it. Very cool to witness in person, we watched for a while until the bear moved down stream.
(Having my zoom lens with me was helpful to really capture this without getting too close ).
