Description of Photo
This purple martin was admitted after a mussel caught hold of their foot, and actually amputated their toe! Purple martins are a species of special concern that had less than 10 nesting spots in B.C. in the 1980's. This species has made an incredible comeback thanks to an artificial nest box program.
Wild ARC cares for more than 3,000 wild animals each year - your generosity will help provide for food and medical costs for animals just like this purple martin.
