Description of Photo
Tiny Anna's Hummingbirds stay all winter long on the west coast of British Columbia, and hummingbird feeders are crucial to making that possible. This one is resting on our Oregon Grape just before going over to the feeder for nectar, which we kept thawed all winter with a commercial 'hummingbird feeder heater' (a cone hanging underneath the feeder containing a light bulb that was plugged in). The enthusiastic chirping of an Anna's Hummingbird is a lovely sound on a winter's day!
