Best known for our work on the Vick case, BADRAP has served as an education/advocacy resource and rescue since 1999. In addition to collaborating with animal welfare organizations and government agencies to provide relief to canine victims of large scale cruelty cases, we provide valuable resources including free spay/neuter surgeries to dog owners through the Keep'Em Home project, and we offer professional training opportunities to animal welfare workers in pursuit of new and better ways to help pit bulls in their shelters and communities. Most of our rescued dogs live in the 'Rescue Barn,' a modest facility in the Oakland hills where they can recover from difficult pasts before going on to start new lives.
