Octavia arrived to our shelter in February of 2017 along with 14 other dogs as part of a hoarding case. Despite her rough beginnings, Octavia had a sunny disposition from the second she arrived on our property. You can see from this photo that she trusted us and understood she was being rescued. She literally hugged and clung to one of our animal care technicians, Malinda. Octavia was adopted in to a loving forever home just a few weeks after her arrival to our shelter.
At the Fredericksburg SPCA, we love and embrace all breeds and, in fact, have removed breed labels from our dogs all together. This has helped us greatly increase our adoption rates of pit bull type dogs and other bully breeds.
