Ginger
Is Your Pet an AWLA Alumnus?
No
Please provide a brief bio of your pet:
Ginger had a day and time to be euthanized in Phoenix. She belonged to my sister-in-law, her son, and his family. My sister-in-law has severe dementia and could not care for Ginger. Her solution was to take Ginger out into the desert and shoot her. My wife and I decided to adopt Ginger, which involved flying her to Dulles via 2 nannies, where I picked her up last November. She is healthy and happy with her co-dog Katie (also entered in AWLA contest) and is a dear sweet soul. I told the vet last November that I never expected to be in a lifesaving role, but am grateful to have had that opportunity, Ginger loves cuddling, cauliflower, fetch games, 'zoomies' on my exercise mat, walks with 'Dad', and her Open Farm kibble. Ironically, we adopted my wife's mother's poodle under similar circumstances in 2007.
