Pet's Story
Ricky was adopted from Ark-Valley Humane Society in July of 2012 after he was surrendered to the shelter with his sister, Lucy. I was working for the shelter at the time and knew beforehand that he would be coming and decided right then and there, without even meeting him, that he was destined to be a part of my family. He was brought into the shelter on a Friday and we met him the following Sunday. He has fit in perfectly with my other pug and two cats. In his short five years of life, Ricky has lived in three different homes in three different states (FL, AZ, and CO); I'll never forget the first time he saw snow!

Ricky is a testament to the fact that there ARE purebred dogs of all breeds living in shelters. As with most shelter dogs, his first few months were rough but my husband and I refuse to give up on him. He's not perfect, but I don't expect him to be. He is so much fun in such a little body - we don't know where we would be without him. Adopt, don't shop!
