Pet's Story
My beloved 16 yr old cuddle cat passed away last June after 11 years as my wonderful companion. After 3 months, I so needed to find another friend to cuddle. I went online, searched until I found 'Puss in Boots' at Poncha Springs AVHS. I drove up to meet him and fell in love, brought him home, changed his name ( he is indeed King George:). That was last September, He has adapted extremely well, eats me out of house and home, curls up next up to me and purrs, is always nearby wherever I am in the house. He is quite fond of helping me compute, as the photo shows. If I don't pay attention to his satisfaction, he usually lays down on my mouse-control arm with all 13.6 pounds:) He weighed 12 lbs when he came home 7 months ago, still a growing boy..
I am so grateful that AVHS allowed me to adopt King George, even more grateful that the adoption cost was within my senior fixed budget. The shelter is beautiful, I was welcomed so warmly, and I cannot begin to
express my gratitude fully. Whenever I have a few extra dollars, I try to send a donation to AVHS so that other folks may experience the happiness of having their own special companion. JMR
