A little about me...
Rusty is a Red Heeler rescued from New Hope Cattle Dog rescue located in Denver. Rusty was rescued from a hoarding situation in Colorado Springs, CO and in a cage with over 100 other heeler type dogs. He was never touch for the first 14 months of his life.
This loving dog now spends his time hiking in the high country, playing with his buddies and getting and giving lots of love.
The picture is with his last best pal Rocket the cat.
We adopted Rocket from a neighbor down the road April 2024. Originally, he had been adopted as a barn cat. This was no barn cat so he came to live in our home. What a loving cat and Rusty and I feel so fortunate to have had Rocket in our life if even for a short time. The mice, not so happy!
Sadly, Rocket had a large tumor on his tongue that ended up taking his life and ending his time with us. Our time together was short but sweet!!
During those short 4 months, Rocket and Rusty became very close, loved each other, and laid with each other as seen in the picture.
Rocket will be in our hearts forever!
