A little about me...
Meme came to me by default in 2020. The man living next door in the rental bragged one day about how he was traveling with her and his dog and was at a rest stop when she got out of the car. It took him forever to get her back in and when he finally was able to grab her he threw from 10 feet away into the front of the car and she hit the other side of the door. He thought it was funny as he told the story. He completely lost my respect on every level.

In July of 2020 he moved out and basically abandoned Meme and left her to fend for herself mentioning nothing about leaving. My neighbor and I fed her. I kept going outside and calling her and feeding her two times a day consistently under my front porch. She pretty much came every time I called her but wouldn't let me near her. She was outside in the huge snow storm we had on Sept 7, 2020 where it dumped nearly 2 ft. I kept going outside and shoveling a walk area for her to come and eat.

It took 3 months for her to trust me enough to come into my house, which took place at the end of October, perfect timing before the weather changed... and the rest is history. Meme is a quite the stunner of a Tortoise, extremely intelligent, and is the sweetest soul. She loves Scout my pup and he loves her and they play although he knows she has nails.

She gifted me with a litter box pee-shaped heart when she used the litter box inside the house for the very first time. Spoke volumes about how she must have felt about the rescue. LOL
