Pet's Story
Major (pictured right) is a Border Collie / Blue Heeler mix, rescued from a cattle ranch in Texas when he was a pup. His owner is a disabled veteran who trained him to be his service dog to help with such things as light mobility tasks and ptsd response. Major has been a service dog for 6 years. Hero is a Basenji mix, approximately 5 years old. He is always full of energy, and has become a great running buddy. These two are brothers in the same household, along with 2 other dogs and a cat. Picture was taken during playtime on BLM land when Major was allowed to be off-duty and partake in his favorite reward activity--fetch!
