As soon as I brought Taz home for the first time, she quickly disappeared behind the couch and didn’t come out that day…or the next day…or the next day. I was so frustrated. I continued to talk to her, saying, "Taz, I love you!" Then, the third week without a sighting, I was sitting on the couch working on my laptop and she walked by in front of me. I was so still—afraid to move and scare her. It was so quick that I wondered if I imagined it. The next day, I woke up from a nap and she was standing as close to the couch as she could staring at me. Then… I woke up on a Wednesday morning with a tiny kitten sleeping on my chest! I can't help but wonder what made her decide I was safe! Now she is my constant companion!
