My Pet Came From:
Another Shelter/Rescue
Pet's Story
Dylan was found in Macon County. His left eyeball was out of the socket rotting away, had bad arthritis, was emaciated and in shock. MCAS determined that he was "unadoptable" and made contact with Angels Retreat in Hayesville, NC to be rehabed and rehomed. As he recovered, it was obvious Dylan had been grossly abused. He refused water and food for days and didn't want to be around anyone. He had trust issues. Then one day, Dylan decided his rescuers were OK and he sought out their affection. Dylan was becoming much attached and it was time to try and place him. I follow many rescues and kept an eye on Dylan's case. I knew Dylan would fill that void in my heart that my dogs passing left, and I could fulfill needs that Dylan had or will have in the future. He is a shy, quiet, gentle dog, and starting to trust me. My reward and blessing was when he finally came to me for that loving stroke and tickle scratch on his ears.
