Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)
I used charcoal pencils, colored pencils and shading tool for my art piece.
I wanted to show how after the tumor my life changed completely. My mind and body fight each other on a daily basis.
I hope to show through my drawing that even though it's a fight, choose to see the light.

Artist Bio: Tell Us Your Story
My tumor was found in 2018 when I was nine years old. It was really scary when I found out I had craniopharyngioma. My doctor was able to remove the tumor, but also had to remove my pituitary gland and there was damage to my hypothalamus, which also has a great impact on my quality of life.

I am on multiple medications daily to replace what my body can no longer produce. I live with a critical illness and deal with new diagnosis often that adds to the rare challenge of dealing with life after this tumor.

It's a battle every day, but I work hard to choose a positive outlook and focus on the good things that God has given me in my life and through this journey.
