Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)
In this digital piece I uses photography and photoshop tp create this collage. My son’s death was due to Covid. He did have underlying conditions but the death was unsuspected. I created this piece which portrays him overlooking and still rooting for his favorite team.
I created this artwork as part of my grieving process.

Artist Bio: Tell Us Your Story
As an artist, graphic designer, artist and photographer I create visual stories. I use art as a form of therapy.
When the pandemic hit in 2020 my son was in North Carolina and me in Virginia, I couldn’t be there and had to rely on the cel phone. This caused me great anxiety. We also could not have a traditional funeral or grieving period. I felt very much alone so I used my art and my and my photo to preserve my memory of him.
Grief is something tou don’t get over. Losing him was like losing a piece of myself..
