Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)
My tumor could have ruined my eyesight. My retirement hobby is, and has been, photography. This side effect would have been crushing. I'm fortunate to have my eyesight was not affected. I enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. I also find beauty in a simple setting like this photo from the Cape Cod area.

Artist Bio: Tell Us Your Story
I grew up in Wisconsin and went to college and graduate school in Minnesota. I live in the Twin Cities and love all the outdoor activities that Minnesota has to offer. I spent 20 years in the corporate world (two 10 year jobs). My last corporate job was as a senior executive at Cargill managing domestic and Latin American investment portfolios. I found the work fun but not satisfying so I left, got a teaching degree and taught high school math for 10 years in suburban Minneapolis. I retired from teaching 8 years ago and started working on my photography skills as a hobby. My website is www.nexttenphotograhy.com. I hope this last far more than 10 years but for now, it will fill the next 10 years.
