"Hawai'i Island based mixed media artist, Melissa Peterson, has spent decades honing her hand-craft based art. While she doesn't always work in all of her media at once, her work is always inspired by the natural world and her experiences working outside with animals. Combining lace knitting and crocheting with hand painted elements gives depth and texture to her work, which explores modern ways to combine traditional crafting and fine art."
