BioCindy Roher, local potter originally from Las Vegas NV. After we sold our business and retired I was looking for a different learning experience. I don't have any formal education in the arts, I originally thought I wanted to learn to weld outside whimsical pieces. Instead I took a workshop in wheeling throwing and found the diversity of clay from throwing to hand building, craving, making glazes, & the firing. It's a constant learning process, there are so many ways things can go wrong along the way, so when I finally open the kiln it's always a surprise, sometimes good sometimes not so much but always worth the experience.
I prefer working with porcelain, it has a very sensual feel when being thrown. It also has a mind of it's own, so each piece comes out differently depending on the glaze combos & firing. I decided I would donate to nonprofits I believe in, 3RR is one of my favorites.
