Tell us why your dog supports the ARLNH!
Bane is a big supporter of the ARLNH, as well as other rescue leagues and shelters across the US. Bane came from Dog Days of Summer, an animal rescue sanctuary in Hawaii. Bane was rescued from a dump with his brothers and sister in Hawaii, so he knows how important it is to support these local shelters and find homes for all the amazing pups we can help.
Tell us what makes your dog better than all the rest!
I was not looking for a dog when I found Bane, but the adoption process started and it was too hard to turnback. I was able to meet him via FaceTime, and the woman who owned the sanctuary could say nothing but great things about him. His original name was Charlie, but I changed it to Bane with a little inspiration from Tom Hardy's character in Batman, mixed with a Hawaiian meaning: "Long awaited child". Bane is the first dog I have ever had and I got so lucky with him. He gets along great with other dogs (maybe too much), loves attention from all humans, and has been relatively easy to train. Myself and Bane are currently in Lake Tahoe, California, and he is living his best life out here. He has made more friends than I have and has loved the outdoor adventures we have been able to explore - hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, chasing squirrels, and of course time at the lake. Bane is truly a blessing and has definitely inspired me to tell my friends if they are thinking about getting a dog to adopt not shop, or at least help out the shelters where they can. I even convinced one of my friends to get a dog from the same sanctuary in Hawaii. I wish I could share more than the one photo of Bane and the memories we have had together (it has been less than a year but you can imagine there are over 100 photos), but this one I sent in really captures his normal expression and the lovely one ear flop that everyone loves <3
