Sonic was a herding dog fail because of his overbite and possibly being farsighted. The farmer dumped him as a puppy in the vicinity of a humane society. But as a rescue, he's proven that he can overcome his challenges and be a great family dog who actually DOES herd us by nipping at our heels not to hard when playing, just like an Australian Cattle Dog is supposed to. His life with us just goes to prove that all dogs deserve a chance and a home where they can prove their worth which is often more than you'll know or can tell at a glance.

Tell us what makes your dog better than all the rest!
Sonic's extreme handsomeness and swagger gives him a commanding presence. The ladies all adore him and he adores the petting they, or really anyone, gives him! He protects our home from things like jet planes, squirrels, leaves blowing around, anyone walking by the house or knocking at the door, and is very loyal to us and our other dogs. He's also super friendly and loves to meet new people after a quick size up. And while giving kisses isn't his thing, he knows when you need snuggles. He's so intuitive like that! He's trainable and listens well, but also has us trained to do certain things like give food and water. He's a great hiking buddy, especially on the trails near our home but also in the White Mountains.
