Ollie (he was being called Cadbury at the shelter) was adopted from Arlington Animal Services in March of 2009. We had been looking for a "big black dog" since they are often overlooked by potential adopters. His on-line photo showed a goofy boy with his tongue hanging out which immediately put a smile on our faces. That night, my husband dreamed that Ollie was begging him to come and get him so he went to meet him the next morning. It was love at first sight! He's ten years old now, and definitely slowing down, but we enjoy every minute we have with him whether it's going on walks around the neighborhood or watching him hog his end of the couch. One of his many nicknames is Sheldon because you know when you're in "his spot"!
