Pet's Story or BioTaquito, The Little Dog with the Biggest Heart 💜
Some love stories begin with a spark. Others, like mine and Taquito’s, start with a quiet knowing—the kind that whispers, this is meant to be.
I had been dreaming of a dog for a year, waiting patiently for the right one. I told myself, I won’t go looking, but when the right dog comes, I’ll know. And then, there was Taquito.
Taquito had been left at a boarding facility. His owner never came back. Days turned into weeks, then months, and still, no one came for him. But fate had other plans. The moment I met him, I knew—this tiny, scruffy pup with eyes full of warmth and wisdom was coming home with me.
There was just one little catch: my husband and I already had three cats, and while I was ready to welcome Taquito with open arms, my husband had one rule—as long as he’s good with the cats, he can stay.
Taquito must have understood the assignment because from day one, he was nothing but gentle. He won over the cats with quiet respect.
Now, a year and a half later, I can’t imagine life without him. He’s not just my dog—he’s everyone’s dog. He greets every stranger like an old friend, gets along with every animal (big, small, feline, canine), and even babies seem to light up in his presence. He comes to my yoga classes, curling up in savasana with students who find comfort just in having him near. He joins me for mindfulness sessions with mental health patients, instinctively offering his quiet companionship to those who need it most.
Taquito isn’t just a rescue—he’s a healer. A little dog with a big heart who was left behind but now belongs everywhere he goes.
I thought I was waiting for the perfect dog. But really, the perfect dog was waiting for me.
