Pet's Story or BioHi there! My name is Lyla Bear—but that’s just my short name. My full name, given to me by my tiny human, is Lyla Bear Ice Cream Face Unicorn Sparkle Poop (yes, really!). My tiny human is five years old, and she takes naming very seriously. I think it’s a perfect fit because I am a little bit of everything—sweet like ice cream, magical like a unicorn, and… well, we won’t talk about the sparkle poop part.
I am an 11-month-old poodle mix with a heart full of love and paws full of zoomies. My story didn’t start off easy, though. My fur mom was found on the streets when my brothers, sisters, and I were just tiny newborns. Life was tough for her, but some kind humans rescued us, and soon, I was adopted into the most wonderful home.
I came to my humans just a few months after they lost their beloved dog, who they lovingly called their “best boy.” I never got to meet him, but I know he was very special. Their hearts were still healing when they found me, but they made room for me, and now I hear every day that I am the “best girl.” I like to think I’ve helped bring joy back into their home, just like he did.
From the moment I arrived, I knew I belonged. My tiny human took one look at me and decided we were best friends forever. She hugged me tight, whispered my very long name in my ear, and that was it—I was home.
Now, my days are filled with adventures. I am the Zoomie Master, the fastest fluffball in the house! The second I get excited, I take off running, zooming around the furniture in a blur of fur. No one can catch me—except maybe my tiny human. She’s sneaky like that.
One of my favorite things to do is play fetch. I will chase that ball as many times as my humans will throw it (seriously, I never get tired). I also love hiking with my family. The trees, the fresh air, the endless sticks to chew—hiking is the best! But do you know what’s even better than hiking? Swimming! If there’s a puddle, a lake, or even a tiny splash of water, I’m jumping in! I don’t mind getting wet—it just means extra towel snuggles afterward.
But no matter how much I love running, fetching, or swimming, my absolute favorite thing in the world is cuddling with my tiny human. At the end of a long, exciting day, we curl up together, and I rest my head on her lap, keeping her safe and warm.
I would love to be considered for Pet of the Year because I bring love, laughter, and nonstop tail wags to my humans every single day. I may be a little wild, a little silly, and a whole lot of fluffy, but most of all, I am the best girl.
