Ann's Place Festival of Trees was created in 2003 in Danbury, CT, as an invitation to the community to participate in a family-friendly holiday gathering that also underwrites the clinical and wellness services and programs that support and guide anyone on a cancer journey, including patients, family, and loved ones.
Festival volunteers came together to create this treasured tradition and continue to operate it today. Our Leadership Board and its larger Festival Committee and subcommittees meet 11 months of the year to keep this tradition fresh and exciting. In its first 17 years, Festival raised over $3.4 million, to support area cancer patients. Hundreds of volunteers and scores of organizations enabled Festival of Trees to grow and delight families in a whole new generation.
We are so excited to bring Festival magic to your computer or device screen in 2020 in our Holidays@Home edition. Covid-19 has been a tragedy worldwide. But it has also taught us just how adaptive humans can be when we rise to the occasion to develop solutions to protect each other and rescue our creativity and humor in finding new ways to connect safely.
We are especially aware of the Covid-19 impact on our families still in the cancer fight, now experiencing more barriers to diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The anxiety felt by the country is magnified in these families and the need to connect with the services Ann's Place offers is heightened. Read more about the important work of Ann's Place at
www.annsplace.org. which continues to inspire us and bring comfort to over a thousand people annually.
With the advent of new ways to effectively fight Covid-19, we hope to return to a live Festival in 2021. Only with your community involvement can we continue delivering comprehensive clinical, wellness, and educational services to our neighbors living with cancer in their most challenging hours.
