Your Pet's Story or BioWe knew Lincoln was special the moment he came to the front of his pen at AWLA and gave us those puppy eyes. But, 48 hours later we learned he was extra special when we attempted to leave him alone. Lincoln was diagnosed with a severe case of separation anxiety. He would bark and howl, and chew his crate, nearly every minute he was alone. After much training, expert help from a Veterinarian Behaviorist, a few dog sitters who helped us minimize the amount of time we had to leave him, and adding a second dog to our home, he was able to overcome his fear. Just about 18 months after his adoption, Lincoln is now the happiest dog when we're home, and even when we leave him.
