Larry is 12 years old but is as smart and almost as agile as he was at 9 weeks, when we adopted him. He knows the names of all of his dozens of toys -- learned within 30 secs of being introduced to them -- but he especially loves his balls. His favorites are his tennis and soccer balls, which are bigger than his Mini Poodle head. Olympic soccer teams would welcome his focus on the ball, as video shows. He plays soccer every Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, and hates rain that cancels soccer outings. He proved his focus and smarts when he refused to enter his cage as a puppy, even though we laid down a towel with a bone at the back side to lure him in. Instead of entering, he used his paws and teeth to pull the towel and the bone towards him. It took him less than a minute to figure it out. He also showed rhythm when he squeaked his toy frog to the beat of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida,." He talks to us and communicates his every mood and need. Larry enjoys visiting the Old Town merchants who offer biscuits and water; he knows where each is located, even the ones behind the Sara Campbell counter. His favorite Old Town spots are the Carlyle House lawn and Founders Park, and he loves his neighbors, including Rafer, the Bijon who lives across the street, and Sandy at Old Town School For Dogs.
