A little about me...
Angel was in a shelter I volunteered at for four years. She was so frightened, so small and trembling all the time. I decided she didn't have a chance to get adopted, so every day I would sit with her in her kennel with my back to her. After tossing small treats to her, I finally gained her trust. I leased her up and took her outside. She melted in my arms coming back, she was exhausted. She was maybe 7-8 pounds and was "rooming" next to a large barking dog. After five days of making friends, I heard she had been there too long and was showing signs of "kennel crazy". I called my husband to come down and get his ok. He melted. I took her up to the front desk, paid my adoption fee and we went home. She knew we were saving her. She was smothered with love. Although I volunteered 5-6 days a week, 7-8 hours, they charged me full price. I was dismissed as being told "this was not my type of work". I got over that insult and I have the most snugly little girl. She sleeps with me, we nap together and even though she is getting up in years, 15 years old now, we still enjoy our nappies and snuggles. I am a disabled senior now and have to say, we are both enjoying our Golden Years together.
