The 1st moment I looked into Howard's eyes I knew we would be soul mates. He (one of the Lucky 33's) had just been rescued from a deplorable hoarding situation; was severely matted with feces and had an untreated broken front paw. I was just getting over my final chemotherapy and radiation treatments for breast cancer; was bald, had terrible skin and basically felt like crap. The day after the dogs were rescued I went to the shelter to see if I could help. That's when my eyes met his and I froze. He was even more damaged than I was! We needed each other badly. As we slowly healed each other we became 2 peas in a pod. I love him with all my heart and know he feels the same. The paw print magnet seen on many cars asks a good question -- "Who rescued Who?"
